Carreon Foundation Banquet and Scholarship Awards

Dr. Carreon Foundation (DCF) will present its annual banquet and scholarship awards to approximately 50 area high school students, from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, at Heritage Palms Country Club in Indio. The keynote speaker for the event is Dr. Tomás Morales, President of California State University, San Bernardino.


Students with Mexican ancestry from all high schools in the Coachella Valley and Palo Verde High School in Blythe were invited to submit a scholarship application. Scholarships are awarded to students who have at least a 3.0 GPA, are involved in bettering their community, are of Mexican ancestry, and who demonstrate leadership skills and financial need. Individual scholarships range from $1,000 to $2,500.


Having served as President of California State University, San Bernardino, since May 2012, Dr. Morales will speak to students at the awards banquet.
